The Silent Force
Is there anyone not wondering why our world is this way?
Is there anyone not wanting to see it change?
The questions are rhetorical until the true query is found.
Is there anyone not knowing it’s actually in our hands?
Let’s start from the beginning though, take it slow.
We begin our lives thinking it’s a laughing game.
We meet people who –in the majority of circumstances-
love and protect us.
As we move forward, we discover that they are not alone`
they have so many helpers by their side,
eager to contribute in molding our beliefs.
Relatives, educators and peers are the microcosm.
As for the macrocosm,
we made the Media our trusted representative.
It's how the masses discover the news of the masses.
The Media not only tell us what the masses experience,
but they also describe how they do it.
We have all had breakfast with someone meaningful.
The Media advertised the ideal way to do it though, in any occasion.
And we believed it -and felt less than blessed.
We have all had free time which we would use.
The Media knew which spending seemed greater though.
And we believed it –and felt unimportant.
One look around is enough to notice the equally empty gaze of yearning:
“I do want to change the world,
it’s just that I’ve been on my feet all day,
you can’t imagine what I’ve been through.
I worry about the future but I fear tearing down my distorted reality,
because it’s all I’ve known so far.
Then again, where will I built my newfound truth?”
Don’t worry, no one is deceiving themselves.
Our sorrow is justified, to an extent:
the guilty pleasure of anger and compassion.
A state of experiencing guilt may prove beneficial,
if it doesn’t get systematic. Instead, and in essence,
we implicitly state that –knowingly and by choice,
we'd rather postpone self-improvement.
We leave ourselves behind pretending
to acknowledge that power comes through unity.
Stay silent and listen, though.
There are many out there hoping for change.
It's all good, unless you ask for general agreement.
How can seven billion souls communicate
before the global hope goes extinct?
There are some who look forward to its demise of course,
to bring the apocalypse closer
and see if any miracle saves them. Each to their own.
Having inside people, even in salvation, know what I mean?
So, if I had a way to gather them all, would you come?
Would you be here? You would be one.
One that would decide with many, though.
Democracies need municipalities.
Collectives instead of masses.
Either thousands or one,
we improve our lives by improving our choices.
Imagine this already being practiced by some.
Imagine the beginning has already been made
and your participation simply means support.
Talk to others about their vision` you’ll be surprised.
In our core, we are human.
What connects us is more essential than what separates us.
We share global hope. Don’t lose spirit now.
Tear down what keeps you from embracing change.
