The Right to Run Free
Most of the times, we find exactly what we’re looking for -just not what we expected. There’s a reason we call them innermost desires. We have to dive deep in order to become aware of them` shipwrecks of hope, crashed by forces of timely truth. It’s what luck is all about. But, instead of caring about the happening itself, we try to determine if it was a coincidence or not. Not even its effect manages to get our attention. Granted, to witness one’s hopes or reality being re-landscaped without one’s conscious realization is a traumatic experience. It takes the wisdom of all-our-wounds-combined to trust that we are still able to adapt and re-purpose. There’s an adjustment period, of course -to shake off the feeling of drowning, a surrender to the sensation of returning to life. And just like birth, the existential shock needs not be feared. This time we don’t need anyone to teach us the basics of life. We are ready to learn on our own, practice on using our altered point of view to take another look at our mindset. And the practice is over the exact moment we feel called to choose and decide. If we hop on an existing train of thought, we miss out on a new destination. Granted, truth will always find a way to reach us, no matter where we’re sailing to, but it won’t always do it the hard way. We are free to replace our patterns of self-inflicted harm with examples of self-loving respect. We are free to start small, by deciding to honor our personal truth in what seems like simple, mundane situations. We are free to stop nurturing the offensive and allow the space and time for the welcoming of that which can heal. We are free to define purity and celebrate its expressions. We are free to extend our hands, free to meet life with open arms, free to pick up the pieces.
Free to either drag our baggage along or only carry the luggage that matters.
